Sailing site property owners or their managing agencies can be provided as Additional Insured under AMYA's Pond Owner General Liability insurance policy with The David Agency, Elmhurst, IL. This liability policy provides $1,000,000 Bodily Injury and Property Damage coverage for the Pond Owner.
Many municipalities require this degree of insurance coverage in order to allow their park and lake facilities to be used for a club's sailing activities. In 2007 thirty-seven (37) AMYA Sanctioned Clubs insured their Pond Owners with this policy and every pond owner found the insurance provisions satisfactory.
Your AMYA Sanctioned Club can provide your pond owner with this insurance, which is in effect for the full calendar year (expiring January 1), for a cost of $50.00.
Please note that this insurance applies only to the Pond Owner, not the club or individual members of the club.
Note: If your pond has more than one owner, you will need to get a separate policy for each.
To provide your pond owner as an Additional Insured is easy to do:
1) Make out a check for $50.00 to The David Agency.
2) Fill out the AMYA Pond Owner Insurance Application Form with Liability Description that is available as a download. The form asks you to provide the name of the pond owner, municipality or agent for which the policy is being provided. Also asked for is the address and the name of the person to which the policy certificate should be sent. Provide your name and address and the name of your club.
3) Mail the check or money order and form to:

The David Agency will send a certificate of insurance directly to the pond owner naming them as insured. The David Agency will also provide Rich Matt, as member of the AMYA Insurance Committee, a copy of the insurance certificate. He will make a copy of this copy for your records and send it to you. It takes about three weeks to process the application form so Please allow for this delay.
