Greater Tulsa Model Yacht Club

The Greater Tulsa Model Yacht Club became a sanctioned club in January of 2001. The club was initiated in July of 2000 with a 10-boat fleet of CR 914s. The first boats were sailing in August and racing in September. The fleet had its first organized fleet meeting in September as the fleet grew to 15 and then 20 boats. After 2 years, the club continues to flourish. We grew to 30 boats, fell to 22 active members and now enjoy a membership of 25 CR914 sailors.

We sail at an impoundment, north of the intersection of 11th St. and Mingo Road here in Tulsa. Our planned racing time schedule, during the winter months is each Sunday at 1:00, weather permitting. We were frozen out during January due to the unseasonably cold weather here in Tulsa but all is now thawed and we have been enjoying our weekly racing schedule since the beginning of February.

Below are posted several documents concerning the administration of the club. The racing calendar for the coming year, the latest set of sailing instructions and our annual report for 2002 are all posted. When you review our schedule you will see that we are planning to host the CR 914 Region 5 Championship regatta September 13 & 14.

If you are a sailor or would like to learn, we invite you to come by our pond at Mingo and 11th Street and experience model sailboat racing with us. We will be glad to put you at the helm and have you enjoy the experience of model yacht racing in Tulsa.
